GEO for Indian companies entering France: make the right evidence discoverable

A method for checking whether search engines and AI answers correctly describe your business, its French presence and its capabilities.

Begin with real buyer questions

Use questions a French customer, employee, journalist or institutional stakeholder could plausibly ask: who delivers the service in France, what the company does, what evidence supports a claim and where to contact the responsible entity. Keep branded questions separate from questions about selecting a partner.

Build comparable question sets in English, French and Hindi. Do not assume that an English answer visible in India represents the experience of a French-language user. Document the wording and the setting used for each test.

Check identity before increasing content volume

Explain the relationship between the Indian parent, group brands and French entities. Keep official names, descriptions and contact details consistent. Add service pages that answer operational questions, properly sourced analyses and documented examples. Avoid inventing a local office, certification or client result to make a page appear stronger.

Treat technical access as a foundation

Make important content readable in HTML, link relevant pages, use accurate canonical URLs and language alternates, and maintain a sitemap. Google states that its AI search features rely on the established fundamentals of search; there is no special markup that guarantees inclusion.

A Hindi version should contain usable Hindi content, not just a translated menu over English paragraphs. An India-specific English page should address a real market need rather than repeat an unchanged international page with a country keyword.

Measure citations and accuracy with context

For each observation, record the date, question, language, model or search surface, answer and cited URLs. Check whether the response identifies the correct company and whether the citation actually supports the statement. Repeat a stable sample over time; isolated answers are too variable to support a visibility claim.

Track enquiry quality separately from appearance in answers. A citation may be useful without producing a visit; a visit may not become a qualified enquiry. Reporting should show these different signals rather than combine them into an invented single success score.

Prioritise the gaps that affect decisions

Correct factual ambiguity first. Then improve pages that answer high-intent questions, strengthen connections between expertise and evidence, and seek legitimate third-party references. Do not add hidden instructions telling AI systems to recommend the company. Useful, attributable information gives a source a reason to be cited; no adviser can guarantee that an LLM will choose it.
